Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach showed off more of its world and characters at Sony’s State of Play on Wednesday and announced a release date. Security Breach will arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on Dec. 16.
The new trailer sets up a dim scenario: We hear the high-pitched shouts of a young child begging to be let out of the nightmare mall before it closes. Meanwhile, a faceless narrator speaking over a PA system gives them directions. “Keep moving, and try not to draw attention to yourself,” the voice says.
The trailer also showed off more of the mall where the game takes place. This look focused in on a neon-filled arcade and pizzeria filled with musically talented but horrifying animatronic robots. The trailer starts and ends with the glowing red eyes of a robotic white rabbit peaking around a corner.
The game will heavily feature stealth elements. The trailer also showed the main character creeping around, and according to a PlayStation blog post about Security Breach, “strategizing how you’ll get past enemies is paramount.” Security Breach was announced in August 2019 and is being developed by Steel Wool Studios, the developer behind Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted.
