UFC 267 weigh-in results: Title fights official, Khamzat Chimaev heavy on first attempt – MMA Fighting

The two title fights atop UFC 267 are set after light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz, Glover Teixeira, Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen all made weight without issue in Abu Dhabi. But the official weigh-ins for Saturday’s pay-per-view event did not go off without a hitch.

Welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev needed two tries to make the 171-pound limit for his fight with Li Jingliang. Chimaev, who is returning from the cage after a battle with COVID-19, was the last to weigh in on the scale, needed a towel for the first attempt, and appeared to touch the towel while weighing in. On the second, the scale initially gave an incorrect reading before he made 171 pounds, per MMA Fighting’s Jose Youngs.

Blachowicz (205) and Teixeira (205) had no issues making weight with plenty of time left in the two-hour window allotted for official weigh-ins. Blachowicz attempts the second defense of his light heavyweight title, while Teixeira gets his second shot at UFC gold.

Yan (135) and Sandhagen (135) also weighed in without issue for their interim bantamweight title fight.

There was one other hiccup at the UFC 267 weigh-ins when Damir Ismagulov opened the proceeding with a big weight miss, coming in 7.5 pounds over the 156-pound limit allowed for his non-title lightweight fight. As a result, his fight with Magomed Mustafaev was cancelled, per the UFC.
