Its been rumored for a while, however now a brand-new Doritos promotion has apparently validated the title of the next Call of Duty game, along with a possible release window for the extremely anticipated war shooter.
Having gotten in the 2nd sub-title phase in its 17-year history, the next CoD will reportedly be entitled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as evidenced in a tweet by TheGamingRevolution.

The leak appears to corroborate previous reports that the game would go back to the setting and time duration of the initial Black Ops– its believed the game will focus heavily on the Vietnam War, allowing gamers to play from not only the United States perspective, but also the South Vietnamese and Viet Cong.

When can we expect it to release?
While the Doritos promotion itself does not explicitly reveal a launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, theres a lot that can be obtained from its fine print..
The promo, which begins on October 5, 2020 and offers players a years worth of double XP, is extremely similar to a previous promo for in 2015s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which kicked off on October 1, 2019 ahead of the games launch later that month on October 25.
While that isnt exactly a verification that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will come out at the end of October this year, its really likely that developer Treyarch and publisher Activision are preparing a comparable release rollout for the approaching video game..
Possible obstructions.
Naturally, there are a number of variables which might throw a spanner in the works in the lead up to release..
Putting aside the pandemic which may have decreased development of the video game, brand-new Call of Duty titles have traditionally been announced rather than this (typically around June in time for E3, which was cancelled this year).
However, now that the feline runs out the bag, we anticipate a main statement from Activision to arrive very quickly, possibly together with a shiny expose trailer. Well keep you posted as more information arrives.
