BEREA, Ohio — Baker Mayfield looked not only physically beat up during his Wednesday press conference, but also beat down mentally in the midst of arguably the most challenging season of his four-year NFL career.
A tough-minded individual, Mayfield will bounce back by Sunday against the 0-8-1 Lions and be the fiery leader that he is, but this season has taken an enormous toll, more than the dysfunctional 6-10 campaign of 2019 under Freddie Kitchens.
