Some intriguing New Year’s Six possibilities opened up when I finally moved Cincinnati into the College Football Playoff. We could see old rivals Notre Dame and Michigan State meet in the Fiesta Bowl, and NFL quarterback prospects Matt Corral (Ole Miss) and Kenny Pickett (Pitt) meet in the Peach Bowl.
Wake Forest’s blowout loss to Clemson caused a ripple effect in my ACC lineup, with the Tigers now in Orlando (the ACC’s top bowl below the New Year’s Six) and Wake in the Gator Bowl. Unless Iowa sneaks into the New Year’s Six at 10-2, the Hawkeyes are very likely headed to the Citrus Bowl for the first time in 17 years.
