This is a good deal on the AMD version of Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 4 (7/10, WIRED Recommends). It’s a solid, well-built laptop, with a nice 3:2-ratio screen that gives extra room for reading and working on documents. Other, more powerful, more expensive AMD configurations are also on sale. Have a look at our Surface buying guide for some other options.
Monitor Deals
Nothing will boost your work-from-home game like a huge screen. The monitors below are the best deals on our favorites.
With a speedy refresh rate (144 Hz) and support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync, this curved monitor delivers smooth graphics. This is the lowest price we’ve seen on this monitor, and it’s particularly a good option for gamers.
The G3 is a slight step down from the G7 above, with the resolution going from Wide QHD to Full HD, but it still has the same refresh rate and AMD FreeSync support, and it’s less than half the price.
This is a decent 24-inch VESA-mountable IPS monitor with a 1080p resolution. What makes it special is it has a built-in webcam that can be hidden away when you’re done using it. The built-in speakers are also decent. With the S4, you don’t need to get a spare webcam or speakers if you’re trying to declutter your desk. Just know the webcam isn’t all that great in low-light rooms.
Networking and Router Deals
No matter how fast your internet is … it could be faster. Upgrading your router is one of the best ways to upgrade your home internet experience. Below are our favorite deals, but be sure to read through our guide on speeding up your home internet, and our Best Mesh Router Systems guide for more suggestions.
We have not tested Netgear’s Nighthawk XR1000 gaming router, but it purportedly offers impressive speeds, apps for iOS and Android, and support for Wi-Fi 6.
Google’s Nest mesh system is easy to use and provides good coverage. It lacks support for the new Wi-Fi 6 standard, but at this price, it’s still a good buy. If you don’t have a large space to cover, a single unit (just the router) is $139 at Amazon ($30 off).
Netgear, Best Buy (2-Pack for $330)
The Netgear Orbi AX4200 is our favorite mesh system for large homes. It’s not the easiest to set up, but fortunately, you only need to do that once. When you’re done, you have a system that easily covers large spaces and delivers very good speeds, with satellite nodes very nearly as fast as the main router.
Furniture Deals
We’ve tested all of the following chairs and desks, which you can read more about in our Home Office Gear guide.
This is our favorite motorized standing desk. It has the ability to store four height presets and features an eco-friendly bamboo top. There are also numerous ways to customize it to your liking.
Branch (Use Code BFCM at Checkout)
This motorized standing desk is pricey, but it’s also one of the most elegant and smooth desks we’ve tested. It has a range of 25 to 52 inches tall, and there’s a hole to route your cables. Branch’s sale is site-wide, with chairs $20 off, and there’s a desk-chair bundle for $120 off.
Secretlab’s metal Magnus desk is expensive and heavy, but your inner neat freak will love the way it makes managing cables a breeze. Reviews editor Julian Chokkattu says the Magnus will solve your cable clutter and deliver peace of mind. Read more about it here.
Amazon (Click the Coupon Button), Flexispot ($231)
This is arguably the best standing desk you can get for the money. Reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has had it in his bedroom for the past year and while its installation instructions aren’t the best, it’s worked as advertised every single time. There are height presets, a relatively smooth motor to raise the desk up and down, and it doesn’t feel cheap in any way.
