Dabo Swinney has never been one to shy away from giving his opinion on the state of college football.

So, when he was asked recently about his thoughts on the coaching carousel and the massive contracts being given out to coaches, he said he’s not a fan.

Swinney explained why he thinks the game of college football isn’t in a good place right now (via On3 Sports):

“College football is not in a good place for a lot of reasons,” Swinney added.

“There’s a lot of change going on, and I think some unintended consequences with that. At the end of the day, we’ll figure it all out as we move forward for sure. There’s a lot of things in college football right now that I think we’ll look five years from now and, and hopefully things will settle down a little bit.”

Several big-name coaches, including Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley, have switched jobs already this offseason. Swinney has lost one coordinator, Brent Venables, to Oklahoma and could lose Tony Elliott to another job, too.

We’ll see what happens moving forward, but this has indeed been a crazy year for the coaching carousel. Can Swinney and the Tigers regroup heading into 2022?
