Bills safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde were less than thrilled about one reporter’s question after Monday’s 14-10 loss to the Patriots.
New England pulled off a win in Buffalo’s blistery weather conditions with rookie quarterback Mac Jones throwing just three passes — completing two of three attempts for 19 yards.
After the game, WIVB reporter Jerry Sullivan asked Poyer and Hyde if losing in that way felt embarrassing, given the Patriots gameplan clearly was built around running the football.
“I mean, what kind of question is that?” Poyer asked.
Hyde followed with, “What are we doing bro?”
The Patriots amassed 222 yards on 46 carries in Monday’s crucial AFC East matchup amid 40 mph winds.
Patriots running back Damien Harris ran for 111 yards and scored his team’s only touchdown on a 64-yard burst in the first quarter.
“We made stops when we had to. They had one big run. I mean, they’ve got good backs,” Poyer said. “They kept coming back to a couple runs. I mean, I don’t know how you want us to answer that question.”
“That’s funny,” Hyde said about the line of questioning. “We’ll remember that. I’ll remember that.”
While exiting the press conference, Hyde said, “It’s respect. It’s all about respect. I come here every week and answer your questions truthfully, honestly. I appreciate you guys. Don’t do that. Don’t do that.”
The Bills visit the Buccaneers on Sunday, while the Patriots have a bye in Week 14.
