As is tradition, French deals forum Dealabs has leaked next month’s PS Plus lineup well ahead of time. The site has gotten the PS5 and PS4 games included in the service bang on for basically half a year now, so you can essentially take this list as confirmation. According to Dealabs, the January 2022 PS Plus lineup consists of:
In our opinion, this is a strong start to 2022 for PS Plus ahead of some speculated changes. Persona 5 Strikers is an excellent title, Deep Rock Galactic is a brand new game to PS5 and PS4, and DIRT 5 is a really solid racer. Good stuff, Sony.
In our DIRT 5 PS5 review, we awarded the game an 8/10 and said: “It brings bombastic, arcadey racing to the console’s launch lineup, giving you something totally different to play alongside the heavy hitters. Although the haptic feedback implementation is basic and one or two visual bugs remain, the core experience is seriously fun, and well worth checking out if you like driving sideways.” You’ll get access to the racer on both of Sony’s flagship consoles, courtesy of a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade.
And in our Persona 5 Strikers PS4 review, we handed out another 8/10 rating and concluded: “While we doubt that Strikers will be remembered anywhere near as fondly as Persona 5, the game goes beyond expectations to provide a classy companion piece. A must-buy for existing fans.”
Obviously we’re yet to review Deep Rock Galactic because it’s a brand new game, but we’ll be sure to bring you our impressions in the New Year. What do you make of this leaked list? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
