Giants vs. Bears, injury news: Nate Solder off Reserve/COVID-19 list – Big Blue View

New York Giants right tackle Nate Solder is being removed from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday. That means Solder should be ready to play Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

That’s good news for the Giants, too. Their already-beleaguered offensive line could be even more short-handed on Sunday.

Backup offensive tackle Korey Cunningham was one of three players the Giants added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday. The others are wide receiver Darius Slayton and newly-signed practice squad linebacker Omari Cobb.

Backup center Billy Price is also reportedly dealing with a personal issue and his status for Sunday is uncertain.

That means Matt Skura could move to center with Wes Martin at left guard.

One person unlikely to be part of the mix on Sunday would appear to be isaiah Wilson, the Tennesssee Titans’ 2020 first-round pick who is on the Giants’ practice squad.

The only other offensive linemen on the practice squad are Devery Hamilton and Derrick Kelly. Kelly is a tackle who played in six games for the New Orleans Saints last season. Hamilton is a rookie offensive tackle from Duke who has never appeared in an NFL game.

WEDNESDAY

Kadarius Toney recently missed four games with oblique and quad injuries, as well as a stint on the Reserve/COVID-19 list for the second time this season. He returned last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, catching four passes for 28 yards.

Now, Toney has a new injury. He missed practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury.

Because, of course.

Toney was one of nine Giants who did not practice on Wednesday as the team prepared for a Week 17 game against the Chicago Bears.

The Giants also placed Dexter Lawrence on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. He will not play on Sunday.

The Giants conducted a walk-through practice, so participation is estimated.
