Tempers flare in Dodgers-Astros game following sign-stealing punishment – CNN

Major League Baseball administered a penalty for the Astros in January after the league stated Houston unlawfully developed a system that decoded and interacted the opposing teams pitching signs throughout its 2017 championship season– the year the Astros defeated the Dodgers in the World Series.

The penalty included both Astros manager AJ Hinch and general supervisor Jeff Luhnow being suspended without spend for one season, loss of the groups routine very first and second-round choices in 2020 and 2021 drafts, along with a $5 million fine. Astros owner and chairman Jim Crane
fired both managers the exact same day.

The Dodgers won the video game, 5-2. The groups will play each other again on Wednesday at 7 pm ET.

While the video game in Houston began out on an excellent foot, tensions began to run high at the bottom of the sixth inning with 2 outs.
A pitch from Dodgers reducer Joe Kelly– which did not appear to be a fastball– buzzed near Astros shortstop Carlos Correa, triggering Correa to fall, advancing runners to third and second. Correa went on to strike out to end the inning, and Kelly stuck out his tongue at the Astros shortstop.
