NFL Draft 2022: Giants land top pass rusher; Jets, Eagles target help for young QBs, secondary in latest 1st- – NJ.com

The 2022 NFL Draft is shaping up to be all about three teams: the New York GiantsNew York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.

All three could have multiple top-20 picks.

Here’s what CBS Sports predicted in its latest first-round mock (using the 2022 NFL Draft order via tankathon).

Jets

The Jets have a pair of first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Jamal Adams trade.

4. Charles Cross, OL, Mississippi State

Yes, this might be too rich for Cross, but we’ve had him going inside the top 10 in previous mock drafts, he had a really strong showing in 2021, and he immediately upgrades New York’s O-line.

7. (from SEA) Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU

Stingley missed the final half of the season because of injury but that will have zero impact on his draft stock.

Giants

The Giants have a pair of first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Chicago Bears as part of the deal which sent Justin Fields to the Windy City and Kadarius Toney to the Big Apple.

5. Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE, Oregon

The team needs help on both lines, and while O-line could be a consideration if Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu are still on the board, Thibodeaux is one of the best players in this class.

8. (from CHI) Tyler Linderbaum, OL, Iowa

Linderbaum, who left Iowa’s bowl game with a lower-body injury, is one of the best offensive linemen in the country.

Eagles

The Eagles are sitting on three first-round picks: their own, plus one from the Miami Dolphins in the DeVonta Smith trade and one from the Indianapolis Colts in the Carson Wentz trade.

14. (from MIA) Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

While he is playing on the best defense in the country, don’t be fooled — he’s not riding on the coattails of a dominant Georgia defensive line — Dean’s been a huge reason for its success.

19. Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

Olave is one of the best route runners in this class and he’d be a nice complement to ‘21 first-rounder DeVonta Smith.

21. (from IND) Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn

McCreary was the most consistent cornerback in college football this fall.
