After watching Josh Allen the past two seasons in the regular season and playoffs, there are going to be no shortage of players who want to join the Buffalo Bills.
In fact, Allen has been so impressive that some players who could have come to Buffalo are second guessing their decisions.
One of those players is former All-Pro and Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen. Olsen, now retired and doing broadcasting full-time for FOX Sports, joined The Dave Portnoy Show to discuss Allen and the Bills. After seeing Allen’s recent play, Olsen admitted to thinking “what could have been.”
“I’ll tell you what and I’ll give you a little insight,” Olsen told Portnoy. “When I chose to go to Seattle to play with Russell, obviously because of how good he is, I look back now when I made that decision of just how good Josh Allen now two years after that decision and I think all the time what could have been in Buffalo. All my coaches were there, my tight end coach was there, (Sean) McDermott who was with us in Carolina… I sit and watch these last two playoff runs and again I don’t regret it. Playing with Russ and that whole thing made so much sense at the time and I don’t look back on it, but the coulda, shoulda, woulda… Two years ago you go to Buffalo with all your old people from the Panthers… He, in essence, was MVP last year after last year being up and down… I could have made the wrong decision.”
The “Allen Effect” could help Buffalo get the few missing pieces they need to win it all in the next few years. Don’t be surprised if some players turn down more money elsewhere for the chance to win a ring with Allen and the Bills.
