Brooks Koepka will attempt to extend his lead at the 2020 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational on Friday as he goes into the day leading by a set over Rickie Fowler and Brendon Todd. Koepka has actually not had much success considering that winning this competition in 2015, but this is the perfect spot for him as hes attempting to tailor up for the just major of the 2019-20 PGA Tour season next week at the Tour Championship.
There are plenty of chasers to keep an eye on, consisting of Fowler (-6 ), Justin Thomas (-4) and Bryson DeChambeau (-3 ). All three played rather well at times on Thursday, and Thomas and DeChambeau have been enormous because the PGA Tour rebooted at the beginning of June.
TPC Southwind should again play a little slower and a little softer than weve seen some of the other courses over the last month play, which will work to the benefit of longer players like Koepka and DeChambeau. Regardless of the terrific Day 1 efficiency, Im not totally sure I think in what Koepka is offering right now as he hasnt been excellent over the last year. I need more than one round of fantastic play for him, and maybe we get that round come Friday early morning in Memphis.
