The Sony Xperia 1 IV just leaked big time! – Android Authority

Sony Xperia 1 IV

TL;DR

  • Renders of the Sony Xperia 1 IV just dropped.
  • The phone is expected to be Sony’s flagship for the year.
  • It retains a physical fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Sony Xperia 1 III was one of the best phones we tested last year. Now, the company seems to be readying a sequel called the Xperia 1 IV. Rumors about the device have been floating around for quite a while, but a reliable source has just leaked a bunch of high-quality renders of the phone.

Tipster OnLeaks, in collaboration with GizNext, has revealed that the next Sony flagship will look a lot like its predecessor. It’s got the same boxy shape and 6.5-inch flat-edged panel as the Xperia phone before it.

The Xperia 1 IV also gets a physical fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack — typical Sony features rarely found on flagship phones these days.

The back panel of the device shows a triple camera setup. The leak suggests that one of the sensors is a telescope shooter.

The overall dimensions of the Sony Xperia 1 IV are also similar to the previous model. All of this begs the question — just what has Sony been up to in the last year?

Of course, the specifications are where the real upgrades are expected. The phone is said to feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, up to 16GB RAM, 256/512GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W charging. Three 12MP shooters are expected to take care of photography tasks.

Rumor has it that the Sony Xperia 1 IV will launch sometime in May this year.
