Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable stream is live – EventHubs

Update: The 3rd Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable stream is now live. Come watch it with us below.

It’s going to be a late night for fighting game fans in the West, but probably worth it considering the development heads of the biggest series in the genre don’t come together every day.

The Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable is scheduled to be held for the third time tonight with many familiar faces as well as some new ones from Capcom, Bandai Namco, Arc System Works, SNK and more sitting down to discuss fighting games — and hopefully show some announcements too.

The stream itself is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. PT / 2 a.m. ET and is scheduled to last for a total of around two and a half hours.

As for those participating this time around, Katsuhiro Harada (Tekken Series Producer/Director), Daisuke Ishiwatari (Guilty Gear Series General Director), Akira Katano (Guilty Gear Strive Director), Akira Nishitani (Arika Company President), Shuhei Matsumoto (Street Fighter 5 Producer), Yasuyuki Oda (King of Fighters 15 Chief Producer), and for the first time Seiji Aoki (Virtua Fighter eSports Chief Producer) will be sat around the figurative table for the event.

There’s currently no confirmation as to what topics are set to be talked about though we’ll likely see discussion surrounding the push to the next generation of fighting games as well as the big developments and releases that have occurred over the past year.

As for new announcements, that too remains a big question mark, especially because Street Fighter 5, The King of Fighters 15, Guilty Gear Strive, DNF Duel, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown and Tekken have all already had new content shown over the past week, so it’s going to be very interesting to see what more the developers could have in store for fans.

There is the longshot chance of receiving some new information on Street Fighter 6 or the next Tekken project, bug given that the former was already stated to have more planned for this summer specifically, we shouldn’t get our hopes up much there.

Streaming is being handled by the official Virtua Fighter YouTube channel, and you can catch the action alongside us here once it goes live.
