Apple made a surprise acquisition of Dark Sky in March and there are indications that its already reside in iOS 14. As part of this, the weather forecasting service is slowly being deprecated for non-Apple devices and clients. The Dark Sky shutdown is now total for Android and Wear OS, however the site sees a reprieve.
However, in a last-minute update, the Apple-owned company stated it was extending the deprecation by a month. August 1st is now here, and Dark Sky has actually quit working. The official Dark Sky app for Android was originally arranged to stop working on July 1st.
