Tensions are starting to build between the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks with the Dubs firmly in the driver’s seat of the Western Conference Finals following a 109-100 road win Sunday night to go up 3-0 in the series.
After Golden State’s Steph Curry hit a no-look 3-pointer to give the Warriors a 43-42 second quarter lead, a timeout on the floor led to a commercial break on the TNT broadcast. During the commercial timeout, alternate angles from TNT Overtime — a complimentary feed available on NBA.com with no announcers and a host of alternate camera angles — showed the teams getting into it as the players headed to their respective benches.
The Mavericks’ Luka Doncic and the Warriors’ Juan Toscano-Anderson — who had at least one chippy exchange earlier this season — began jawing; Doncic and Curry then turned around and walked toward half court, as Boban Marjanovic and various other teammates and officials hustled in to separate the teams.
Another angle shows Toscano-Anderson turning around a first time to yell at Doncic and a second time to escalate things even farther as he threw his towel to the ground in disgust with Doncic:
Draymond Green (who already had one tech on his ledger) began screaming toward the Mavericks bench, likely in Doncic’s direction. Whoever Green was berating, he appeared to call a “b—h” and also his favorite Aaron Gordon insult.
No technicals were assessed for the altercation, and Doncic, Curry and Green were shown hashing it out at midcourt after things cooled off.
