Tucker, who coached one year at Colorado, already got off to a postponed start with the Spartans even before the pandemic.
MSU worked with Tucker on Feb. 12 to change Mark Dantonio, who retired eight days previously as the schools winningest coach after 13 seasons. July 22, MSUs summertime exercises were halted and Tucker and his team placed into a 14-day quarantine after a player and 2 personnel members evaluated favorable for COVID-19. That quarantine was arranged to end Tuesday.
The Spartans are coming off a 7-6 season and win over Wake Forest in the Pinstripe Bowl in Dantonios last game.
