Initially, move Cubs-Brewers video game up from 7:15 pm to 1:15 pm, the very same time as Cardinals-White Sox on the South Side. Both rescheduled as 7-inning games. This must be easy to do considering that there are no fans in ballparks.

– I dont typically get riled up about foreign compounds like others, however when its THIS outright, coming from a player about whom there were currently justified suspicions, it truly pisses me off:.
– A tip that when all this went down with Trevor Bauers remarks, he was discussing the Astros:.
Trevor Bauers spin rate has taken off. Per Statcast, highest four-seam/sinker/slider RPM in baseball. Four-seam up 400 RPM from in 2015. Whats intriguing about that is Bauers previous assertion that such boosts were difficult without substances. https://t.co/iCU6NZ2mgS pic.twitter.com/z1JQEpcWXG.

– Speaking of South Bend, a little look at Adbert Alzolay getting in his work (UPDATE: Deleted. I question if the Cubs didnt desire these videos shared by gamers. Suffice to say it was a nasty curveball with some metrics listed):.

– Thats Alzolays nasty curveball, which– if you squint at the numbers in the upper right– comes in at 2890 RPMs. Just 16 big league pitchers have a higher average spin rate on their curveballs this year. That pitch also was available in 2mph much faster than his average curveball in 2015. Fluke? Maybe. Something hes worked on? Also perhaps. I tend to think there was a reason the Cubs sent Alzolay to South Bend immediately, instead of even have him at Summer Camp, specifically considered that he would have had a possibility to be successful right out of the gate as a reliever by just going fastball/curveball. I know they desire him to keep establishing the changeup, so its possible that they just desired him to max out on the opportunity to keep developing as a starter in advance of 2021. Its just hard to see his stuff in some cases and not wish he was immediately in the Cubs bullpen. Then again, the curveball he revealed at the big league level in 2015 was not as impressive/consistent as it remained in the minors, and theres no possibility the Cubs wouldve stayed out an effect reducer who is using up a choice year anyway, so perhaps Im overthinking this and he just wasnt all set.
– This is among those just-wild-enough-to-be-awesome ideas:.
Cole is still using it. And then you have Bauer, who was about the only individual to openly rail on this concern two years ago … now also doing it himself. Synthetically developing substantial spin rate by utilizing a foreign substance * is unlawful * and boosts pitcher performance.
– 14 games in, and theres your Giancarlo Stanton injury: strained hamstring. It really draws, due to the fact that he stays my preferred batter to enjoy. He simply does ridiculous things:.
– There is likely more official word coming, however the Cardinals game tomorrow against the Pirates has actually currently been postponed. Nothing has formally been decided about the rest of the series– maybe the league is hoping all negatives this weekend, Monday, and Tuesday, will mean that the Cardinals and Pirates could play a doubleheader on Wednesday?– however I wager we get word today or tomorrow.
– Jose Quintana threw a bullpen session the other day (the typical “in between starts”- type bullpen, I presume), and hes still scheduled to make his next simulated look on Tuesday in South Bend (Marquee). At that point, the Cubs can begin to consider deciding– does Quintana return to the big league rotation? Does he slot into the bullpen?
The other two postponements can be knocked off throughout Cards subsequent trips to Wrigley. A crosstown doubleheader on Aug. 15 makes for a long day for both groups, but our American Legion plan is a lot easier than attempting to reschedule all three video games in St. Louis.

My existing re-binge is The Sopranos, which I just wrapped seeing in full for, I believe, the 3rd time. It remains a terrific watch throughout the series, and obviously a crucial turn in the advancement of TV dramas. I was simply reading last night how close David Chase was to turning the pilot into a movie due to the fact that networks were passing on the program.
