He does not know where the velocity boost originated from. His bullpen prior to the start wasnt great, however he credited catcher Austin Romine for keeping him relaxed. Or it couldve been the two weeks off in between starts. He was scheduled for an Aug. 2 appearance until a rainout required the Tigers to skip him in the rotation..

Regardless of the five scoreless innings in between the pair, and Fulmer discovering the speed he has been awaiting since Tommy John surgical treatment shut him down, Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire isnt sure how hes going to move on with the No. 4 spot in the rotation.
But Fulmer kept his guarantee.
And by doing so, hes starting to find his kind.
” Its way prematurely to talk about that,” Gardenhire stated. “Were still trying to get everything straightened out in the clubhouse right now, so well figure that one out.
” We said that was going to be the tandem, and we like it. Well just see if we stick with it.”.
