Todays reset brings with it the launch of Solstice of Heroes, the yearly summertime occasion showing on the previous year. From what we can tell up until now in these early moments, the occasion is a pretty close mirror to in 2015s occasion, with the return of the EAZ and its boss/chest spawns for our farming enjoyment.
While I like the EAZ and its verticality, as I think its one of the most creatively developed mini-encounters in Destiny, I am never all that thrilled about the everlasting grind of the armor sets. I have actually documented all the requirements here, but while some you might just do “naturally” throughout the next month, others, like five experiences or 10 Gambit games, are probably going to need to be farmed specifically. And the entire procedure is going to take a very, really long time.
Eververse has some new items today including this truly fantastic DBZ emote that is an insta-buy. Some are grumbling about the $15 or 6,000 brilliant dust expense of the decorative Solstice armor with the essential radiances, and Ill most likely get more into that later on.
We are continuing the Solstice tradition of updating an armor set a number of times into an improved variation, however Bungie has assured us this time that it will not be rendered ineffective in a month like the last 2 years, since no major armor modifications are coming, and the sets wont be sunset for a year.
Among the most questionable steps is the last upgrade that needs 7 total Trials wins, something that many PvE only players just feel is impossible. I believe it should be more achievable than a typical period of Trials because in theory, you must have other Trials noobs attempting the same thing in a provided weekend, so you may at least have a opportunity at matching with a reasonable team you can beat. This will be a long procedure through all these steps, nevertheless, beyond the no-lifers that get it all done this first week (I mean, dont judge me if I do).
Fate 2
Bungie
Well, it took a hell of a long time, however we finally have a week where something new is happening in Destiny 2, as we struck another mark on the now extended roadmap.
This week, the word is Conviction. A lot of fascinating things in this lore entry. Initially, Eris thinks that a Ghost she saw flittering around was spying on her, because Ghosts are typically frightened to get too close to the pyramids since they run the risk of being had by them (which weve seen). A spy for who? The Darkness? Or somebody in the Tower?
In other places, we still have our weekly ritual of the Inference mission where I see if the tree has actually altered (tree watch: no significant modifications) and get some new tradition from Eris.
I believe she believes the Vanguard may be spying on her, concerned about her contact with the Darkness. A fascinating line from the lore:
To me, this has echoes of “what if were the baddies?” as in, all our terrific triumphes are war crimes to others, ie. annihilating the whole Fallen race, for the many part, and our Savior, the Traveler, is a bad guy to someone else (Eramis).
” The opponent warns me of excellent atrocities couched in valor, violence born from supreme conviction. This message is an extension of the “camouflage” logograph. A cautioning against my own comrades.”
Eris talks a lot about Zavala specifically, wondering if he would kill her if he believed she had actually visited the dark side. She states yes, however he d feel bad about it. Another line about Zavala:
” But he is not swayed by the hot-blooded elite. He fears triumph illness. What will take place when our mighty newborn Guardians, accustomed to quick triumph, meet a grinding, tiresome opponent?”
Destiny 2

This is, in theory, the Darkness, our new risk that we are not going to just eradicate in Beyond Light. Or anywhere near to Beyond Light, provided that a Pyramid is the sign for Lightfall, 2 growths from now. I would kind of consider the constantly respawning waves of Vex, Cabal, Taken, Hive and Fallen “laborious, grinding enemies” considering we never really beat any of them completely, just private leaders who rise and fall.
4 more weeks of lore entries, which would have actually been when the season ended, now thats shifted, so who understands what occurs with this quest and this story after that.
Alright, I have some structures to leap around on.
One of the most controversial actions is the last upgrade that requires 7 overall Trials wins, something that many PvE only players merely feel is impossible. Eris thinks that a Ghost she saw flittering around was spying on her, due to the fact that Ghosts are usually frightened to get too close to the pyramids since they run the risk of being had by them (which weve seen). I would kind of think about the constantly respawning waves of Vex, Cabal, Taken, Hive and Fallen “laborious, grinding foes” considering we never really beat any of them totally, just specific leaders who fall and rise.

I have actually written down all the requirements here, but while some you might just do “naturally” over the course of the next month, others, like five adventures or 10 Gambit games, are most likely going to require to be farmed particularly. And the whole process is going to take a very, extremely long time.
