Howard Mudd dies two weeks after motorcycle accident – NBC Sports – NFL

Wednesday brought word that Mudd stayed in extensive care and in requirement of more surgical treatment, however his condition deviated for the even worse and his death was announced a short time later on. Mudd, who was 78 years old, played for the 49ers and Bears from 1964 to 1970. He made two All-Pro groups and 3 straight Pro Bowls while with the 49ers and was called to the 1960s All-Decade group.

Mudd then embarked on a coaching profession at the University of California. He carried on to work for the Chargers in 1974 and invested time with the 49ers, Seahawks, Browns, Chiefs, Colts, and Eagles prior to coming back to Indy as a senior offensive assistant in 2015.
