Youve most likely heard of Joy-Con drift by now, right? This hardware concern causes the controllers analogue stick to register movement even when it isnt being touched, and weve seen lots of Switch owners grumble about the weird phenomenon occurring to them over the past few years.
Not everybody has come up against the problem with their Joy-Con, of course, but our guide detailing how to repair the concern at house has actually become one of our most popular, which is a quite informing sign that something isnt.
Today, in a Japanese Q+A conference, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has in fact apologised for the hassle brought on by Joy-Con issues. He avoided making any more remarks, citing the ongoing class-action suit presently occurring in the United States (thanks to Nintendo Life contributor Robert Sephazon for the interpretation).
The case in question was first submitted back in July 2019; the claim alleges that “the joysticks on Joy-Con controllers are faulty, leading users to experience drift concerns”. A couple of months later on, following its launch, the Nintendo Switch Lite was also included to the suit as user reports of drift with the brand-new console also began to emerge. The last time we became aware of the case was in May 2020, when the claim was sent out to arbitration.
