Another week, another main announcement from MLB on how the St. Louis Cardinals are going to comprise a ton of lost games.
3 of those video games, from last weekend, are against the Cubs, and they are now back on the schedule as doubleheaders for Monday, Wednesday, and September 5:

Well get our first look at how they make up their roster if the Cardinals can actually return to action this weekend as now arranged. We understand that top outfield prospect Dylan Carlson is coming up, however beyond that, we do not have much of a sense on call-ups, waiver additions, etc. We do not even understand whether a few of the players who originally checked favorable are now actually qualified to return– its been over two weeks, so its certainly possible.
Likewise, a suggestion: doubleheaders this year are just seven innings, and because the makeup video games were expected to be in St. Louis, the Cardinals will be the “home” group for one of the video games in each of the doubleheaders. Thatll be wild.
If the Cardinals arent going to get to 60 games this year, then you at least desire to see them get in all their NL Central games.
As for what this implies going forward, we discussed this morning the ramifications of the Cubs now having to play 5 games in three days next week. As things line up now, Kyle Hendricks and Tyler Chatwood would each get a start on the doubleheader days, and Yu Darvish would begin the 9-inning game in the middle.
The top priority in the meantime, as you can see, is making up the NL Central games. I get that, and I agree with that. If the Cardinals arent going to get to 60 video games this year, then you a minimum of want to see them get in all their NL Central video games.
