Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone has a history of substantial downloads, and Infinity Ward has come under fire for the games install size, which is over 200GB on PC and near that on console.
What makes last nights upgrade even worse is it comes hot on the heels of the 36GB Season 5 upgrade – and Xbox One owners in particular are understandably disturbed.
” UNFORESEEN BUG? Some individuals dont understand that not everyone in the world has a top notch connection. Even if you live in developed countries and even if youre economically stable.
” I reside in Italy, in a village on the countryside, and I d be more than happy to spend for a fast connection, however its simply not readily available yet in this place and so Im stuck with a connection that gives me like 1mbps in download AT BEST, frequently even less. 66GB for me implies I will not be playing the video game for a minimum of a half and a day or 2. In this case Im leaving home for 10 days tomorrow and simply wished to play some CoD today. Think I wont be playing it until 2 weeks from now. This shit makes me so mad.”
Social media hasnt been pretty for Infinity Ward, either.

Is this some kind of joke? Nearly have to download the entire multiplayer game once again ???? pic.twitter.com/lnrlUvUtce— Hasan Akhtar (@xvigiR6) August 15, 2020

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Xbox One players are being forced to download a huge 66.3 GB spot to repair the weapon graphics corruption bug that has been afflicting the game since the launch of Season 5.
PlayStation 4 owners just need to download a 1.2 GB patch, whereas on PC, Warzone-only players require to download a 0.88 GB spot, and Warzone and Modern Warfare gamers need to download a 1.83 GB spot.
Why the enormous distinction on Xbox One? “Due to an unforeseen bug with the Microsoft patch shipment procedure, this download requires Xbox users to redownload files they already have, but it does NOT effect the overall install size,” Infinity Ward described. “Were working closely with Microsoft to guarantee future updates are smaller in size.”
Post spot, Xbox One players will see a set up footprint of 99.5 GB for Warzone just, and up to 183GB for the full video game.

Infinity Ward had actually stated it was “fast-tracking” the fix for the weapons graphics bug, and plainly the studio was keen to launch it as soon as possible. However, some players have actually criticised the timing of patch, which was launched late on Friday night/ early Saturday morning.
” That is fucking ruthless for all the Xbox players who try to play first thing in the early morning and awaken to a 66GB upgrade,” WILLx7HEx7HRILL stated on the Warzone sub.
For what its worth, here are the spot notes:

Repair for weapon designs (weapons and sights picked up) damaging on screen
Repair for an error that might occur when selecting “Play Again” choice in Warzone
Repaired a bug where players might use the rope ascender through a closed door in Downtown
Fixed a concern where the world design of the Common AUG was appearing unnoticeable in Warzone
The increased map counts in our playlists triggered some maps to not appear in playlist rotations. To help them appear more routinely, were getting rid of the following maps from each mode noted below:
Headquarters – Removing Arklov Peak and Shipment
Kill Confirmed -Removing Aniyah Incursion
Cyber Attack – Removing Aniyah Incursion
Hardpoint – Removing Piccadilly and Aniyah Incursion
Search and Destroy – Removing Rust

Recently, Virgin Media revealed to Eurogamer the substantial impact Call of Duty updates were having on its broadband service. The Season 5 upgrade sparked a 60 per cent uplift in traffic on its service week-on-week. I envision there will be a little a spike this early morning, too.

Why the enormous difference on Xbox One? “Due to an unanticipated bug with the Microsoft spot delivery process, this download requires Xbox users to redownload files they currently have, but it does NOT impact the general install size,” Infinity Ward discussed.” UNFORESEEN BUG?” I live in Italy, in a small town on the countryside, and I d be more than delighted to pay for a quick connection, but its simply not offered yet in this place and so Im stuck with a connection that provides me like 1mbps in download AT BEST, often even less. 66GB for me indicates I wont be playing the game for at least a half and a day or 2.
