Alex Smith and Frank Gore were both prepared by the 49ers in the 2005 NFL draft. Neither might have imagined all the weaves their careers would take, however today Gore is celebrating the news that Smith is back.
Gore and Smith invested 8 years as teammates in San Francisco prior to Smith was traded to Kansas City in 2013. Smith has because been traded once again, to Washington, where in 2018 he suffered the disastrous leg injury that the majority of people thought would end his career. Gore went from San Francisco to Indianapolis to Miami to Buffalo and is now with the Jets, where he too is defying doubters by continuing to play at the age of 37, long past the expiration date for common NFL running backs. Smith and Gore have a lot in typical, and even if theyre no longer sharing a locker room, they have a bond of colleagues.
“This makes me real delighted!” Gore wrote.
Reacting to the Washington Football Teams main statement that Smith has actually been activated from the physically unable to carry out list, Gore cheered on Twitter.
