The Yankees picked up their 5th win in a row on Sunday night, besting the Red Sox by a score of 4-2. A fast, little victory that further buries Boston. Ill take it! Well have a full recap up a little later, however in the meantime, here are some highlights:
Winners of the Game
Happ tossed 5.2 innings of one-run ball, a solo shot off the bat of Kevin Pillar, but otherwise kept Bostons lineup in check. He struck out 3, walked 2, and permitted 3 hits. It was a perfectly great start, nothing flashy, but these days, when Happs worried, that counts as a significant victory.
Mike Ford gets approval for a huge night, too. He went 2-for-4 with a crowning achievement, and those hits could not have been more different: a 73.5 mph bloop single, and a growing 102.9 mph crowning achievement. The male has rather the Stacast range, obviously.
Respectable Mention: The ESPN2 Statcast broadcast definitely rules; Bob Kendrick also guidelines
