Lead writer and director fired from Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 – Polygon

Hardsuit Labs announced on Aug. 11 that Vampire: The Masquerade– Bloodlines 2 was postponed into 2021. The studio said it needed more time to finish a polished and steady item. Families 2 will launch on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, with variations for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X also in development.

The publisher and developer of Vampire: The Masquerade– Families 2 have fired the games innovative director and lead author, and it does not seem like it was an amicable departure.

Polygon reached out to a Paradox Interactive representative to ask for more comment on why Mitsoda and Cluney were dismissed. The publisher declined to comment.

” I was not part of the discussions that resulted in the choice to delay production,” Mitsoda stated. He was fired July 16. “To my knowledge, there were no delays triggered by the Bloodlines 2 narrative advancement.”

Mitsoda, in a declaration to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, called the modifications an undesirable surprise. “That this came as a shock to me is underselling it,” Mitsoda stated, noting his five years of deal with the video game. “Im incredibly disappointed and annoyed to state that this is where it ends for me on the job.”

” This was a joint choice made by the leadership of Hardsuit Labs and Paradox Interactive,” the statement said.

Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs announced the terminations in an article on Wednesday, stating that Brian Mitsoda, who was likewise lead writer of the original 2004 video game, and director Kaai Cluney “are no longer part of the team at Hardsuit Labs.”
