Thom Brennaman, a play-by-play broadcaster who calls NFL games on FOX, was heard using a homophobic slur when he didnt realize he was on the air while calling a Cincinnati Reds video game on Wednesday night. He was right away suspended from his baseball task, however there was no instant word on whether he will keep his football task.
Brennaman stated the words “One of the f-g capitals of the world” during the Reds broadcast. He obviously believed the broadcast was on an industrial break at the time, however he was live on the air. Quickly after, he asked forgiveness while the game was going on, just hardly acknowledging a crowning achievement that was struck while he was speaking.

With that, Brennaman left the booth prior to the video game was over. The Reds announced that he is suspended for what the team called “the horrific, homophobic remark.” FOX has actually not commented.
” I made a comment earlier this evening that I think went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed of,” Brennaman said on the air. I dont understand if Im going to be putting on this headset again, I dont understand if its going to be for the Reds, I do not know if its going to be for my managers at FOX. I want to apologize to the individuals who sign my income, for the Reds, for FOX Sports Ohio, for the people I work with, for anyone that Ive upset here tonight.
