2 weeks after introducing the first public beta of macOS Big Sur, Apple has released the 2nd iteration today. The upgrade comes just one day after beta 5 of Huge Sur got here for developers.

Spotted by my associate Gui, a full size, big update may appear, however Apple does note that you might discover an incremental update as a workaround under the “Another upgrade is readily available– More Info” link in the software application updater.

If you havent installed the public beta yet and wish to offer it a spin, weve got an in-depth walkthrough here on how to get going with the free beta. Simply keep in mind its not ideal to run it on your primary Mac.

If youre currently registered in the general public beta, you can check to see if the macOS Big Sur beta 2 is offered on your Mac by heading to System Preferences > > Software Update.

macOS Big Sur includes a huge refresh to the UI thats motivated by iOS. Other brand-new functions include Control Center, Safari enhancements, new Messages app functions like pinned messages, adjustable widgets, and a lot more.
