Desperate times highlight the worst in individuals– from those who hoarded bathroom tissue and sold individual rolls for more than $50 each at the start of the COVID-19 quarantine, to those who are now trying to offer lousy iPhones with the Fortnite video game installed on them for thousands of dollars.
I d generally compose this off as a lame effort to sucker individuals out of their cash thats certainly not going to work, but obviously it has worked. Some eBay consumers are investing outrageous amounts of money on iPhones they dont require.

Its bad enough if you buy a high-grade utilized iPhone 11 Pro for more than what a Apple charges for a new iPhone; its even worse when youre investing that sort of silly cash– once again, countless dollars– on something like a used iPhone XR or iPhone 8 Plus. Theres a sucker born every minute, and in a perfect world eBay would have some sort of “sound judgment” test they would have to first pass in order to use the service.
Anyway, heres why this is all simply one big rip-off that you ought to prevent no matter just how much your kid complains about how they cant set up Fortnite on their iPhone or iPad.
G/O Media might get a commission
You need to never pay too much for a years-old iPhone
And the majority of obvious, is the truth that youre paying way, method more for an iPhone than what its worth for one game. Purchase your kid a $1,000 laptop and let them play Fortnite on that if youre going to plunk down $4,000 for a $1,000 mobile phone. Heck, even a $500 laptop needs to suffice to get them on the bus and waving to the motorist without issue.
Even in a best-case situation, you wont be able to play the current variation of the video game with any seasonal updates Epic Games tosses into the mix. I have no concept how long youll be able to keep on playing an older version of Fortnite, but chances are good that even this window will ultimately close.
You might squander every cent youre investing
You might not even need an iPhone that has actually Fortnite already installed on it. While its real that you wont be able to discover Fortnite on the App Store any longer, that doesnt mean you cant download it from the App Store.
You might not get to play Fortnite for very long
Second, and more importantly, theres absolutely no warranty that an iPhone with Fortnite currently set up on it– as is the case for numerous Fortnite fans– will be able to play the video game for much longer. Fortnite developer Epic Games has no method to get you an updated variation of the video game, as it no longer exists on the App Store, nor will Epic Games even have an Apple developer account for much longer.
Heres what I suggest. If youve ever downloaded Fortnite prior to on iOS– I would assume many people who are wanting to get the video game now have at least tried it eventually in its three-year history– then its still connected with your account.

Browse for “Fortnite,” and if youre fortunate, itll be offered for you to re-download. Thats a lot easier, and a lot less expensive, than purchasing somebody elses iPhone, but I do applaud these eBay sellers for the hustle.
