Dodgers 4, Rockies 3: Cody Bellinger walks it off in most Cody Bellinger way possible – Dodgers Digest

Dealing With Kyle Freeland for what looks like the billionth time, the Dodgers got on the board in the 1st after a Mookie Betts walk and a Corey Seager single. Betts went first to 3rd on the play, and Seager was tossed out going for 2nd, but Betts scored during the rundown to make it 1-0.

In the 2nd, the Dodgers got a run the easier method, with Chris Taylor going oppo for a solo shot and a 2-0 lead.

Treinen continued in the 8th trying to keep the video game deadlocked, however provided up a lead-off double and then a ground out to move him over. He then got another grounder against a drawn-in infield and got a bit lucky.

In the 6th, Brusdar Graterol took control of for him and was put in an early hole after Trevor Story hit a soft grounder to Corey Seager. It wouldve been an infield single anyway, but Seager attempted to do his best Omar Vizquel barehand play and tossed it into the dugout to put the tying run in scoring position. The Rockies then produced the connecting run with a ground out and a sac fly to make it 2-2. Graterol got out of the inning without concern otherwise, being stuck to an unearned run.

In spite of their seven-game winning streak ending, the Dodgers went into still having won nine of their last 10 and wanting to extend another winning streak to 3 video games.

Unfortunately, the offense mainly stalled for a while after that, and the Rockies got a run right withdraw Dustin May in the 3rd when Sam Hilliard hit a solo shot of his own.

They handled to do precisely that in as boring of a video game possible for something that was so back-and-forth. It managed to make up for it in the end in a hilarious walk-off for Cody Bellinger.

I like how besides the two solo homers, none of the other runs scored this video game are highlights.– Chad Moriyama (@ChadMoriyama) August 23, 2020

That generated Kenley Jansen in a tie game and he handled to get a strikeout.

That set the phase for Bellinger, who strolled up and lined a pitch over the right-field wall for a walk-off. Though that was remarkable in itself, it was only made much better by the fact that he was so damn baffled.

Aside from that acne, May continued his run of quality begins, going 5 innings of one-run ball, providing up simply 2 hits and two strolls. Nevertheless, he did just strikeout one batter and he tossed 81 pitches to make it through five, both of which are the main issues as of now.
