Philadelphia Eagles starting left take on Andre Dillard is set to miss the entire 2020 NFL season after suffering a biceps injury throughout Thursdays training camp practice, according to NFL expert Mike Garafolo.
We described how Dillards injury happened in todays practice notes:
There are real issues about the state of the Eagles offending line heading into this season.
With Dillard hurt, the Eagles will likely slide Jason Peters back to his natural left deal with position. Peters has been lining up at ideal guard in training camp with Brandon Brooks suffering a season-ending injury back in June. Matt Pryor figures to be the guy substituting Brooks now with Peters moving back outdoors to replace Dillards job.
Dillard wasnt having the finest camp prior to getting hurt. He still has much to show when it comes to being a long-term answer at left deal with. And he regrettably wont get an opportunity to do as much this season.
During a recent BGN Radio podcast, my co-host Jimmy Kempski also said Dillard was found on crutches at one point prior to camp began. UPDATE: Derrick Gunn keeps in mind that Dillard suffered a biceps injury in addition to a shoulder strain he was dealing with. With Dillard hurt, the Eagles will likely move Jason Peters back to his natural left take on position. Provided concerns about Dillards performance, Peters at left tackle and Pryor at ideal guard might actually be the Eagles finest offensive line mix in the short-term.
Dillard held his hand/arm in pain after taking on Josh Sweat in 1-on-1. Dillard was kneeling and crouching for a bit off to the side as trainers examined him. Dillard left the field and did not go back to practice. Worrying that hes been banged up throughout camp. He previously left practice early on Sunday. During a current BGN Radio podcast, my co-host Jimmy Kempski also said Dillard was identified on crutches at one point before camp started. … he might be dealing with more than one injury? [UPDATE: Derrick Gunn notes that Dillard suffered a biceps injury in addition to a shoulder stress he was dealing with.]
Provided concerns about Dillards performance, Peters at left take on and Pryor at ideal guard might actually be the Eagles best offensive line mix in the short-term. Peters is also most likely to get nicked up at some point and its not perfectly clear who would replace him if that occurs. The Eagles have actually been offering first string representatives to Jordan Mailata in practice but the Aussie is far from a foolproof option.
