LSU coach Ed Orgeron says more players are considering opting out of football season – ESPN

After losing star pass receiver JaMarr Chase and defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin to decide outs in the previous 48 hours, LSU coach Ed Orgeron on Tuesday said there are still a couple of other gamers who are thinking about whether to play this season.
” There are one or two I know are thinking about it,” Orgeron said. “Hopefully they dont. But again, if they do, thats what well live with. However we have depth, and if they do pull out, were still going to have a fantastic football group.”
All informed, LSU had 4 gamers pull out. Protective lineman Neil Farrell and defensive back Kary Vincent notified the team of their decisions earlier this month.

Orgeron stated both Shelvin and Chase, who are predicted as possible NFL first-round draft choices, had “genuine factors” for leaving which the decision was tough for both of them.
” Guys are going to pull out for different reasons,” Oregeron said. “Thats the time were residing in.”
Orgeron admitted he didnt want Shelvin to go, however he appreciated the decision. He said he informed the 346-pound lineman to remain in shape and “go have a heck of an NFL career.”
Throughout the videoconference with reporters, Orgeron also dealt with reports that the offending line was hit especially hard by COVID-19 testing last week. He decreased to say precisely how many players missed practice.

LSU is set up to open the season Sept. 26 in the house versus Mississippi State.
