Fujifilm has revealed a brand-new 50mm X-series lens with an extraordinary f/1.0 aperture. The XF 50mmF1.0 R WR is the worlds very first f/1 autofocus lens for mirrorless cameras, according to Fujifilm, and marks the 35th X-series lens the company has produced. Its field of vision has to do with 75mm-equivalent on Fujifilms APS-C sensors.
Long in development, this is quite a statement lens for Fujifilm rather than something thatll be a practical tool for most professional photographers. The distinction in depth of field between this and the 56mm f/1.2 will be at least partly balanced out by the much shorter focal length, and the 50mm is much bigger and much heavier at 845g, or about 1.9 lbs. It does provide weather condition sealing, however.
The XF 50mmF1.0 R WR will be readily available this succumb to $1,499.95.
Fujifilms previous fastest lens was the 56mm f/1.2, which is the aperture that business like Canon and Nikon also tend to peak at when creating autofocus lenses. While Canon did make an autofocus 50mm f/1.0 for its DSLRs at one point, it was terminated decades earlier. Nikon and Leica have made f/0.95 lenses previously, however they just worked with manual focus. Big apertures permit the user to achieve shallower depth of field and contend faster shutter speeds or lower ISO settings.
