With waiver claims to make and players potentially headed to injured reserve, the initial 53-man roster that the Patriots set on Saturday wont remain in place for long. Cutting both kickers allows the Patriots to hold onto players at other positions prior to transferring to get one in location for Week One versus the Dolphins.
When word surfaced that the Patriots waived fifth-round pick Justin Rohrwasser on Saturday, the preliminary action was that veteran Nick Folk had won the groups kicking job.
This years guidelines also allow groups to bring up two gamers from the practice team for a video game, so there are a great deal of methods the Patriots could go to fill that area.
Folk might well deal with the kicking duties for the Patriots, but its not rather that easy. Jeff Howe of TheAthletic.com reports that Folk has actually been launched.
