Flash forward 48 hours and Golladay has actually now missed out on 2 consecutive practices entirely and is noted as skeptical. Patricia has altered his tune a little bit.
Even if Golladays injury is on the moderate side, Patricia seems to be recommending his injury– and all the ones like it– are in between one and 2 weeks. And if thats the case, Golladay isnt a lot “uncertain” as he is already out.
” Were trying to prevent them from being long-term kind of soft-tissue injuries,” Patricia said. “So even if we get guys that are tight, that might be on the milder side, possibly a seven-, 10-, 14-day type things, were trying to prevent the four-week kind of injury there.”
Kenny Golladays status in this game rapidly nosedived as the week went on. According to head coach Matt Patricia, Golladay suffered a hamstring injury throughout Wednesdays practice, but he appeared to downplay it on Thursday early morning.
So this asks the concern: What do the Lions do now?
Question of the Day: Who replaces Kenny Golladay?
My answer: Its most likely going to be Marvin Hall and it probably must be.
I understand a lot of Lions fans will be clamoring for fifth-round novice Quintez Cephus to begin his very first NFL game, particularly after a promising training school. And while I certainly wouldnt be against a relocation like that, its worth keeping in mind that Hall had just as excellent of a training camp:
Lots of simply think about Hall as a deep hazard– nearly every ball he caught last year was at least 20 backyards downfield, but like Justin, I saw a far more well-rounded receiver at training camp.
Your turn.
I wish to see Cephus as much as the next individual– and maybe well get a handful of snaps on Sunday vs. the Bears– but Hall is the right call here.
With Golladay likely out, I have this an unexpected quantity of self-confidence in Marvin Hall to effectively consume a great deal of those reps. Its challenging to completely describe how improved Hall looked in camp.– Justin Rogers (@Justin_Rogers) September 11, 2020
