A suspect armed with two pistols and a knife was taken into custody in Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday night following an hours-long standoff with police outside Arrowhead Arena, home of the NFLs Kansas City Chiefs, according to reports.
Cops included the shooter, who they believed was having a mental health crisis, in one location of the parking lot and attempted to negotiate with him for more than seven hours before choosing to take him into custody using non-lethal force quickly after 6 p.m., KMBC-TV reported.
A Royals game arranged for 6 p.m. Saturday was quickly delayed, KMBC reported. The checking out Pittsburgh Pirates remained at their hotel up until getting word that the location was safe, Pittsburghs TribLive.com reported.
The scenario triggered a hold-up for a set up Kansas City Royals baseball video game at nearby Kauffman Stadium, the reports stated.
Officers reacting around 10 a.m. to reports of a gunman shooting at Arrowhead Stadium workers were able to get employees out of damages method. No injuries were reported, according to FOX 4 in Kansas City.

The suspect, who wasnt hurt, was given a psychological health assessment before being scheduled into jail. Police did not release information about what triggered the matter, FOX 4 reported.
No occasions were going on at Arrowhead Stadium at the time, FOX 4 reported. The Chiefs had played their season-opening game there versus the Houston Texans on Thursday night and both teams will be off Sunday.
