Dan Patrick: Michigan probably not gonna play if Big Ten reinstates fall season – WolverinesWire

” I dont know how lots of schools are gon na play. Its gon na be a contentious vote, is what I was told,” Patrick stated. “You have some individuals who have actually remained in the medical community who are presidents at locations like Michigan, Northwestern– and theyre not gon na be voting versus this.

As far as Michigan is concerned, if a vote is yes, the Wolverines will certainly be taking the field.

OK, were not purchasing this, not even a little bit.

” Not everybody in the Big Ten is gon na play. There is genuine optimism, according to my source.”

This is where we take a tough disagree.

There is pretty close to a zero opportunity that the other Big Ten organizations take the field this fall while Michigan sits in the house– even if university president Dr. Mark Schlissel votes versus a season. There would be an all-out revolt by the football team, the athletic department, fans and big-ticket donors of both the school and the advertisement itself if that were the case.

As optimism increases about the Big Ten renewing the fall season today, previous ESPN personality Dan Patrick tossed some cold water on the scenario as it refers to Michigan football.

” Im informed the Big Ten, the presidents and chancellors, theyre gon na vote this afternoon– thats what I was informed the other day,” Patrick stated. “Theyre gon na vote this afternoon, theyre attempting to get 9 votes. Theres a real chance and optimism here. Theyre gon na be able to do these tests; theyre gon na get the quick screening.

Patrick states that if the season does return, Michigan will not be a part of the restored fall season– along with Michigan State and Maryland.

Patrick validates by means of an anonymous source that a vote by the conference presidents and chancellors is likely to occur today, but also notes that some teams might not play, even if the vote is yes.

” Michigans most likely not gon na play, Michigan States not gon na play, Maryland probably not gon na play. Youre gon na get Nebraska, Iowa, Purdue, youre gon na get Indiana, Ohio State. Im told that Wisconsin is sort of– while they wish to play, I dont understand if theyre gon na have the ability to play.”
