Spotify criticizes new Apple services bundle on antitrust grounds – Reuters India

(Reuters) – Streaming music firm Spotify Technology SA SPOT.N on Tuesday criticized competing Apple Inc AAPL.O, saying that a brand-new subscription bundle offer from the iPhone maker abuses its dominant market position by preferring its own Apple Music service.
Spotify said the Apple One package revealed Tuesday downsides streaming music competitors. Spotify and Apple charge $10 a month for their streaming music service, however the Apple One plan bundles it with other services such as tv or video games that start at $15 monthly.
” We call on competition authorities to act urgently to restrict Apples anti-competitive habits, which if left unchecked, will cause irreversible damage to the developer neighborhood and threaten our cumulative freedoms to listen, discover, create, and link,” the music streaming business stated.
In a statement, Apple stated the package was targeted at existing users of its services which “clients can find and take pleasure in alternatives to every one of Apples services.”
