Super Mario 3D All-Stars Will Launch With A Day-One Update – Nintendo Life

Like them or not, day-one updates have become standard practice for a lot of major video game releases in recent years. Even Nintendo’s 3-in-1 anniversary collection Super Mario 3D All-Stars will prompt users to update it when it launches this Friday.

This information comes via GoNintendo, which also notes how this patch bumps the game up to Version 1.0.1:

“We’re not quite sure what the update does, as patch notes are yet to be shared. We do know that it bumps the game up to Version 1.0.1.”

While you’ll presumably be able to play the game right out of the box, you’ll still probably want to update to this latest version. Our guess is it’s some small bug fixes here and there to slightly enhance the overall experience.

In other words, don’t expect this to patch in Super Mario Galaxy 2 – although we’re all for it (if you’re reading, Nintendo).
