Week 2 Fantasy Predictions: Top 3 Players At Each Position – The LAFB Network

Top 3 QB’s

Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys

Prescott and the Cowboys look to notch their first win of the season in their home opener vs. the Falcons. The good thing for Prescott is in Week 1, Russell Wilson had a day against the Falcons secondary, throwing for 322 yards and 4 TDs. The thing that I like even better about this is the fact that the Cowboys have an all-around better receiving corps than the Seahawks. In two career starts vs. the Falcons, Prescott has had a rushing touchdown in both. Look for OC Kellen Moore to dial it up this week for an offense that wasn’t their best in Week 1.

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers

Mr. Discount Double Check came out firing in Week 1 throwing for 364 yards and 4 TDs. in 2019, the Packers took both divisional wins vs. the Lions, though both came down to the wire. Rodgers threw for 280+ yards in both contests while matching 2 TDs and an interception in each game. While the Lions look better than they have in a while, a 4th quarter meltdown to Mitch Trubisky and the Bears gives me confidence that Rodgers and the Packers will hit the ground running from the start.

Jimmy Garoppolo – San Francisco 49ers

I won’t even say that Jimmy G and the 49ers were embarrassed in their Week 1 loss. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals look to be a team that will be a problem throughout the season. With that being said, the 49ers should come out and light up the Jets in Week 2. Josh Allen was able to throw for 300+ yards with 2 TDs vs. the Jets in Week 1 and he missed some throws that could have made those numbers bigger. This will be the first start for Garoppolo against the Jets.

Top 3 RB’s

Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints

Kamara had a good fantasy showing vs. a Buccaneers defense that was the best against the run in 2019. Though he only rushed for 16 yards and a score, he added 5 receptions for 51 yards and a score. The Saints take on the Raiders this week on MNF. In a Week 1 win vs. the Panthers, Christian McCaffrey did Christian McCaffrey things rushing for 98 yards and 2 TDs, and adding 3 receptions for 38 yards. In my opinion, Kamara is just as talented and versatile as McCaffrey so I expect him to put up similar numbers, especially with Michael Thomas out.

Saquon Barkley – New York Giants

Perhaps one of the more surprising stat lines of Week 1 was Barkley’s 15 rushing attempts for 6 yards. That’s not a typo. He added 6 receptions for 60 yards, giving fantasy owners some sort of sanity. Look for Jason Garrett to figure it out in Week 2 and give Saquon a better opportunity to succeed vs. a Bears team that surrendered a TD, 100+ rushing yards, and 6 receptions between Adrian Peterson and D’Andre Swift.

Dalvin Cook – Minnesota Vikings

Cook had a good showing in Week 1 vs. the Packers. Though his rushing yards (50) weren’t high, he still managed to snag 2 TDs on the ground. He also snagged an extra 2 points on a 2-pt conversion. The Vikings did get production out of their second back Alexander Mattison, but look for Cook to show up ready to rumble. The Colts in Week 1 did alright defending Jacksonville’s James Robinson, as he ran for 62 and had a reception for 28 yards, but he’s a rookie and not on the level of Cook yet.

Top 6 WR’s

I’ll be doing 6 receivers instead of 3 FLEX options.

Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons

In four contests vs. the Cowboys, Jones has had at least 5 receptions in each contest and gone for 100+ yards in 3 of the 4 games. The last and only other time he’s played in Jerry’s World, he received a healthy 20 targets for a stat line of 12/164/2 (Rec/Yds/TD). In Week 1, he and Calvin Ridley both were targeted 12 times apiece. The only thing that set them apart was Ridley hauling in 2 TDs. Matt Ryan is a more seasoned passer than Jared Goff, so I expect the Falcons to follow suit with their offensive game plan; throwing the ball a lot.

Davante Adams – Green Bay Packers

Adams had a field day in Week 1 with the Vikings secondary. He and Aaron Rodgers’ rapport hasn’t skipped a beat and the duo look to be even more lethal this year. In the past two seasons, Adams played in only 1 of the 2 seasonal matchups with the Lions. He didn’t disappoint, however. He had great outings of 9/140/1 in 2018 and 7/93/1 in 2019. Adams will keep receiving a healthy share of the targets in a potent Packers offense.

Marquise Brown – Baltimore Ravens

Brown has a solid start to his season in Week 1 with 5 receptions for 101 yards. In his rookie season vs. the Texans, Brown didn’t see as much success, though that was in part due to the Ravens blowing out the Texans 41-7. This year should be much different as the Texans will try their very best to not start 0-2. While the Texans will try and contain Mark Andrews, look for Brown as he’ll likely beat the secondary deep at least once.

Parris Campbell – Indianapolis Colts

Campbell quietly led the Colts in receiving last week with 6 receptions for 71 yards, while he and T.Y. Hilton tied for the share of targets with 9. If the Colts go down early, I think Campbell will benefit from an inevitable air attack. The biggest caveat to this is Philip Rivers turnovers. Colts TE Jack Doyle was just listed as out for Sunday as well, so expect more passes to come Campbell’s way.

DeAndre Hopkins – Arizona Cardinals

Hopkins went off in his first game as a Cardinal for 14/151/0. That was on a healthy 16 targets. He clearly has a great rapport with Kyler Murray and that relationship will look to build upon in Week 2. The Washington Football Team does have a very good pass rush and while it could pose problems for Murray, I’d expect he’ll still find Hopkins downfield on scramble plays.

CeeDee Lamb – Dallas Cowboys

In the season opener, the rookie looked good with 5 receptions and 56 yards. With TE Blake Jarwin out for the season, the Cowboys receiving corps looks to have an uptick in targets. While Amari Cooper got the majority of the targets in Week 1, I expect Lamb to be more involved in Week 2. This can be seen as more of a sleeper pick, but I think the rapport is there with Dak Prescott for the rookie to have his first big game of the year.
