There was no shortage of highlights to choose from at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 11 event, but four finishes stood above the rest.
The UFC handed out $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses to Khamzat Chimaev, Mackenzie Dern, Randy Costa, and Damon Jackson.
No Fight of the Night bonus was given.
The undefeated Chimaev lived up to the enormous hype that he generated for himself coming off of two dominant performances on Fight Island, needing just 17 seconds to land a one-punch knockout on veteran middleweight Gerald Meerschaert.
Dern won her second straight fight by submission and picked up her second straight Fight Night bonus. She finished Randa Markos with a first-round armbar after the veteran strawweight dared to go to the ground with Dern, a multiple-time jiu-jitsu champion.
The other two bonuses went to Costa for his 41-second head kick KO of Journey Newson, and Jackson for his third-round comeback guillotine submission of Mirsad Bektic.
This marks Costa’s first Fight Night bonus, while Jackson takes home an extra check after returning to the UFC for the first time since Jan. 30, 2016. Jackson went winless in his first three appearances for the promotion before stepping in to fight Bektic on just two days’ notice.
