INDIANAPOLIS– Colts linebacker Darius Leonards desire to make a young fans day– outside of getting a win– almost cost him his wedding event ring following Sundays success over the Minnesota Vikings.
Leonard was on his way back to the locker room when he gave the fan his gloves as a keepsake. Little did Leonard understand, though, that his wedding ring, which he wears during the video game, was also inside his left glove. It wasnt up until Leonard had actually showered and dressed that he realized his ring was gone.
” Once I put my gloves on, my ring is on,” Leonard stated on SportsCenter. “Once I knew I took the gloves off and thats the only thing that could have possibly happened, thats when in my mind when I tossed my glove, the ring chose it. Thought I may not see that ring once again.”
1 RelatedWhat Leonard didnt recognize was that the fan had no objective of keeping his wedding ring, he just wanted the gloves. The fan went to social media and sent out a direct message to the linebackers better half, Kayla, to let her understand about what happened and of his intention of returning the ring back to the family.
” It was fantastic,” Leonard stated. “I constantly state that its a showcase of his moms and dads. The sincerity of stating they found it. Some people wouldnt have said anything. They would have stated its a memento. I thank them for true blessing me to give my ring back, thanking them for being sincere. It could not have happened to a better household.”
Leonard isnt done offering the fan a souvenir. He plans to send him a jersey as a token of his gratitude.
” Ill offer them a jersey or something,” he stated. “Definitely need to return a favor.”
And yes, Leonard still prepares to wear his wedding ring during the video game. Hell simply be a little more careful when he takes his gloves off.
