It is tough to have an even worse start to the season than what Georgia performed in the very first half.
At the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs had more penalty lawns than offensive backyards. The Bulldogs played numerous quarterbacks, starting with DWan Mathis and after that going to Stetson Bennett in the second quarter.

Bennett did show some development to end the half, performing a two-minute drill to get Georgia a basket from Jack Podlesny to make ball game 7-5. The Bulldogs gained 59 lawns on the last drive of the half.
