Hoster stated private investigators figured out that a male roommate of the victim heard gunshots when he returned to the house Friday and that moments later on Haeger emerged from the victims bed room with a handgun.
” Haeger then pointed the handgun at the roommate. The roomie rapidly got away out of the back of the residence, and he was able to get a neighbor to call 911,” Hoster stated in a declaration.
Reacting cops discovered the victim dead in her bedroom, Hoster said.
Before he was discovered dead, Haeger was described as “armed and hazardous.”
SCOTTSALE, Ariz.– Charles Haeger, a former pitcher for the Dodgers who had been looked for in the killing of his ex-girlfriend, was discovered dead Saturday of a self-inflicted gunshot injury at the Grand Canyon, cops said.
Haegers body was discovered about 4 p.m. on a trail along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona, Sgt. Ben Hoster, a Scottsdale Police Department spokesman stated in a declaration Saturday night.
Police were looking for the 37-year-old Haeger on suspicion of murder and aggravated assault in the fatal shooting Friday in the Phoenix suburban area, Hoster said.
The victim was determined by cops Saturday night as Danielle Breed, 34. Type owned The Tipsy Coyote Bar and Grill in Scottsdale, the Arizona Republic reported.
Earlier Saturday, Haegers empty car was found near Flagstaff in northern Arizona, police said. Flagstaff is 118 miles north of Scottsdale.
According to mlb.com, Haeger was a pitcher prepared by the Chicago White Sox in 2001, and he played 83 innings in the significant leagues. His profession included stints with the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations.
He signed up with the Dodgers company in 2009, and was initially appointed to the minor-league Albuquerque Isotopes. He was phoned to the Dodgers later that year and remained on the lineup in 2010 before he was sent back to the minors.
