Some days it does not pay to rise. Beginning at about 2:15 PM Eastern time, Microsofts Office 365 services and Outlook began going down for users. Within minutes, users throughout the United States were not able to utilize their essential services.
It should if this sounds familiar. We simply went through a major, six-hour Office 365 blackout in the last week of September. Another such failure, affecting mainly Outlook and Exchange, users hit on October 1st.
What the heck is going on? Far, the only “news” we have from Microsoft is that it is rather apparent: “Cant access Microsoft 365 services.”.
Sources close to Microsoft say that problems with Microsofts cloud services have been an ongoing issue and this is the most current major manifestation.
Users are not amused. As one system administrator put it on Reddit, “Microsoft is dreadful. If this outage goes any longer than a few minutes after what simply happened the other day, there ought to be VP-level heads rolling. Email does not require 50 million new functions. It simply requires to work.”.
