It has been almost ten months since Tyson Fury knocked out (technically) Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title. It was a lopsided win for Fury as he manhandled Wilder throughout the fight before stopping him in round seven via a TKO.
However, Deontay Wilder continues to justify the loss for several reasons. After blaming his overweight walkout costume for the loss, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ opened up on having an injury before the fight.
This time, he has taken a step ahead by claiming that his water was spiked with muscle relaxants. Although he admitted to getting weak in the fight, Wilder’s recent revelation has raised a lot of eyebrows in the boxing community.
It seems that Wilder is back in business since he has finally spoken about the trilogy contest after a silence of almost ten months. Wilder has recently posted a video on social media, accusing Tyson Fury of ducking him in the trilogy fight.
That said, fight fans have started analyzing Wilder’s recent statements with various opinions derived from it.
Deontay Wilder justifies his loss against Tyson Fury once again
Reporter Michael Benson recently took to Twitter and made a shocking revelation by the ‘Bronze Bomber.’ As per the tweet, Wilder has taken a dig at his former coach Mark Breland too. While Breland is no longer a part of Wilder’s team, the knockout specialist continues to aim at him with words.
Talking about it, Wilder said, “My water was spiked as if I took a muscle relaxer or something like that. My water was tampered with… It was like I had no control over my body, my legs were weak… I think he [Mark Breland] has got something to do with my water as well too.”
Wilder was unhappy with Breland’s action, who threw in the towel to prevent Fury’s one-sided assault. Although it saved Wilder from getting finished, he was unhappy about losing the WBC strap.
Thus, Deontay Wilder fired Mark Breland from his team. As the trilogy bout with Fury is back in the talks, it seems that Wilder is ready to avenge the loss. No wonder the heavyweight division is getting ready for some intense action.
