Fortnite’s v14.50 patch is here on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, preparing the game for its release on Microsoft and Xbox’s next-gen consoles while bringing back Jetpacks courtesy of Tony Stark.
Fortnite Season 4 has been all about superheroes, with characters like Dr Doom and Stark taking residence on the island as they prepare for battle against the evil Galactus.
While Iron Man’s own development centre has been transported to the island, it seems he’s been using his workspace to help out everyone on the island, making some adjustments to Jetpacks, and offering them freely to those searching for a Victory Royale.
Jetpacks are back
Fortnite fans haven’t seen Jetpacks since June 2018 when they were vaulted from the Battle Royale mode, but after some work at Stark Industries, the item is back, and are apparently “new and improved.”
How they’ve been adjusted hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but it’s likely we’ll see them return in different variants as we did previously, with some offering longer fly time depending on the rarity.
The return of Jetpacks mean that players have plenty of ways to fly through the sky when rotating around the map, with Choppas still present on the island as well.
Fortnite for Xbox Series X & PS5
Along with the return of Jetpacks, Epic Games have used the v14.50 patch as a way to release some final preparations for the launch of the game on Sony and Microsoft’s next-gen consoles next week.
With “faster loading times, dynamic visuals and physics, and 4K resolution at 60 FPS” all coming as part of the upgrades to the game for Xbox Series X and PS5, players can look forward to faster loading times and improved graphics when they jump out of the Battle Bus.
Lachlan Icon Series skin
Australian YouTuber Lachlan Power’s long-awaited Icon Series Skin finally arrives as part of this update, with the skin set to release on November 12, although he’ll be giving some codes away early on November 8.
The cosmetic set will of course include his skin, but also come with a pickaxe, back bling, and emote. Players can also earn it for free by placing well in Lachlan’s Pickaxe Frenzy tournament on November 7.
Fortnite v14.50 Bug Fixes
As always, Epic Games have also been working hard on squashing some of the frustrating bugs that have been affecting the game in recent times, using their official Trello board to provide updates on their progress.
Epic haven’t updated their Trello just yet to confirm what is definitely fixed in this patch, but using their ‘Fixed in Next Game Update’ tag, we have a good idea of what to expect. We’ll be sure to update this post with the full fixes once the devs have confirmed them.
